104 Things to Do in 2004
2004-02-06, 12:40 a.m.

I shamelessly stole this idea from Lisa because I think resolutions are kind of stupid. I always come up with vague, unmeasurable items like "lose weight" or "stop eating so much crappy food" and I never have any sort of plan in place, so at the end of the year, I'm just disappointed that my resolutions didn't come true. However, I am nothing if not a constant analyst, so this list is right up my anal-retentive alley. Spreadsheets! Quantifiable results! Cost-benefit analysis!

Okay, I am a geek, but I think the fact that I can track my progress and that I have a plan in place for completing this list is a pretty cool thing. (I deleted everything that could potentially identify me to people who don't need to know, which is why one or two are completely blank. And, I don't have cool nicknames for the entire cast yet, so they all got first-initialed for now. I'll change that later.)

I intend to re-visit this list every month or so to force myself to be honest about my progress and to focus on what I need to do in the upcoming month. Obviously, improved physical and financial health are big goals for me this year, and things that Absolutely Must Get Better in 2004.

And if I can even accomplish 90% of the things on this list, I'll be a lot smarter, a little wealthier, and a whole lot happier at the end of the year - and that sounds pretty good to me.
